Cyber security awareness events: turning the message into an experience staff remember

Awareness doesn't work with leaflets alone. Practical ways to turn cyber security messages into interactive experiences on site.

Cyber security messages matter, but they repeat: passwords, suspicious links, data protection. The challenge isn't the information itself; it's getting employees to stop, take part and remember. That's where an event designed as an experience comes in.

Start with a journey, not a stand

Instead of one corner with a screen, design a route with a beginning and an end: an entrance that introduces the idea, interactive stations, and a closing area. A journey moves visitors from curiosity to participation.

Interactive ideas that work

  • Quick quiz games on touchscreens with instant scores.
  • A short escape room where a team solves a puzzle tied to safe behaviour.
  • A prize wheel or darts game with small rewards to break the ice.
  • A branded photo station staff share.
  • Real-world scenarios: a phishing message on screen and the task of spotting what's wrong.

Visual identity is part of the message

One identity for the event, with clear colours and symbols, makes the stations feel like a single story. The effect continues afterwards through giveaways and print carrying the same message.

Delivering inside the organization

  • Elements fabricated in advance and installed quickly outside peak hours.
  • Respect for movement routes and building safety requirements.
  • An on-site team running the stations and guiding visitors throughout.

Our role in a number of cyber security awareness events was the design concept, décor set-up and installation — including the TAHAKOM event, which featured a journey gateway, an escape room, a stage and interactive stations.
